Acupressure
Duties and Responsibilities: Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing art that is similar to
acupuncture, but does not use needles. Instead, body pressure points are
manipulated by specially trained massage therapists. Acupressure professionals
may earn certificates and degrees at colleges, massage schools and independent
facilities to obtain hands-on massage instruction and courses on Asian medicine.
Salary:$81,830-$31,390
Education: You'll find acupressure classes and training programs
available at massage therapy institutes and specialized Chinese medicine or
acupressure schools. Each acupressure school will offer its own unique curriculum,
but, in general, you can expect your acupressure training to cover these
subjects:
·
Anatomy
and physiology
·
Acupressure
points and meridians
·
Theories
of Chinese medicine
·
Acupressure
techniques and protocols
·
Health,
hygiene and contraindications
·
Neuromuscular
techniques
·
Clinical
practice
Reflection: I would not like to be a person who’s
a acupressure because you’ll need to learn every part of the body so that you could
put more pressure for the patient and
it seems difficult to do acupressure to someone I personally think it’s a great
job for someone who will like to do that but acupressure is not for me.
